Whats the difference? Theres no elaboration on what exactly the difference is. Is it the full version? (I would be upgrading from Lite)


I'm close to FINALLY pulling the trigger.

There is Live 8 and Live 8 Suite.

The Suite has the instruments/everything.

As shown on the page:

Er, well hold on there, make sure that "Live Lite" is Ableton 8 "Regular."

When I think of "lite" I think of LE, which is the free version...

Yeah that's not what you need...

If you already own Ableton Live 8 "Regular/Standard Edition," you need the Suite from "Regular/Standard" Upgrade as shown here:

If you have Ableton Live 8 Lite "LE?", you would need the following:

Good call, I have Live Lite 8 Akai Edition (I got from my MPK25). When I log into my Ableton account it says I can straight upgrade to 8 or 8 Suite for right about the same cost as Zzounds.

I'm assuming the Akai Edition is just another SKU of LE/Lite.
I'd wait until someone from Ableton chimes in, if you're considering purchasing from a retail front. (i.e. not direct)

I registered the ableton version and it comes up exactly as I listed above "Ableton Live 8 Lite Akai Edition"

The akai edition should be a fully functional version of ableton. As in no limitednu mber of scenes and ability to save projects. its essentially buying the 100 dollar basic ableton...since you forked out for a controller. Assuming they sell that edition like they do the apc edition. Essentially you just noeed a suite upgrade...best found through your website a ccount

That's how I understood it. I'm only going through Zzounds as I can buy it in 4 payments, no interest. As I've said before, it's my little hobby for after my kid goes to bed. Paying $13 more but doing it in 4 payments is totally worth it to me. I did this with the mpk25 and it was easy. After this software I'd like to maybe do an APC40.
