Bluescreen on set up

I have:
HP Pavillion p6610f computer, Realtek High Def Audio soundcard, Windows 7 64bit
Live 8.2.7
Fender Mustang Amplifier/Audio Interface
I followed the instructions to set up Live 8; I go to Options>Preferences>Audio, then on the drop-down menu pick ASIO (Mustang has ASIO support), and my computer immediately bluescreens. After it restarts, when I open Live, I get a bluescreen before the program initializes. If I ininstall the ASIO driver for the amp, Live will open again, but I still bluescreen when selecting ASIO on that dropdown menu regardless of whether a driver or a device supporting that format is present. I've tried reinstalling the program, tried with the amp on or off, tried reinstallying the ASIO driver, it always bluescreens when I select that option. I'm at my wit's end, can somebody please help?
