Don't listen to a lot of house but this is pretty sweet. It builds very nicely & I really like the synth that comes in about 1.17. I think maybe a snappy reverby kick would be good where the beat stops about 2.42 & maybe a filter sweep after that for a few bars would be nice too. But hey what do I know, House isn't really my forte.

I am really loving it! Only got half way thru before wanting to comment haha.

I love your style, its simple and standard what prog house shoudl be.

i am fairly new to ableton, you used it to make this right? is it crazy to ask to have your project file? to get a sense how you made it, as i practice myself? would help a lot

Nice. Very trancy. Great sounds in the beginning. But more to the end I had a feeling that the track needs some turnaround or so.

Hey DD.

The following is just an opinion-
I feel that the whole track has a 'dated trance vibe' about it. Although, it does sound nice.

Saying that, most of todays commercial 'pop' music lends itself to older trance influences.

I think if you could get some nice pop girl vocal, you could really take it somewhere.

I like the 1:13 & 3:12 wha wha wha sound/build, but just prior, I'd work on the arpy section...needs....something....

@ 1:43 & 3:42, instead of continuing with the same melody build, I'd tend to go a little LMFAO and drop some killer dirty bassline (real dirty & cluby).

With some vocals, I reckon it would sound pretty sick.

Anyways, just an opinion

Cheers, Si

Thanks very much for the listen and the feedback Mr. Sib, very much appreciated. I totally agree, the sound is a little dated, which was something I struggled with from the beginning. I would LOVE to get some vocals for this, but I doubt anyone wants to get on some no name track ; ) Maybe I could find an a capella somewhere for it, but I agree, vocals would do a lot. I agree about the arp and the dirty bassline drop, I think it would totally add a more contemporary edge, which is much needed.

Thanks again,
David

Well, everyone was right, the sound was very dated, so I updated the sound, while still trying to retain some of those trance roots, what do you guys think?

Double D! Idk why I yelled that when I read your name but hey, it happened.

I have to say, I really enjoy it!! And surprisingly haha. Probably the first track I've heard here that has a perfect mix of what we get from people like mau5 and Avicii, and a truly uniquely-new something that we can tell we haven't heard before. I think it was in the first build up when you could hear the orchestra-like chords building up like 1-2-3-4 etc until the first drop, when I realized while that was a rising beat in notes, the other loop stayed the same, if I heard it correctly, and I think it through me off, wanting the notes to match. Make any sense?

I really love it. May I ask, what instruments you use, a real midi keyboard? And I'd really love this file to mess around with myself and study your work. If I can learn to get my ideas truly heard like you did here, it'd be amazing.

Great stuff!! :)

Thanks very much for all the kind words, I do use a midi keyboard, I usually play all the parts of a song instead of program them. Mostly use sampler and a couple free vst synths, everything else is right out of Live. I have a pretty limited setup, but it gets the job done. I might post the file once this track is actually finished, I don't produce much house stuff, so I am trying to get some feedback along the way and it is therefore gone through a few iterations but I'll post back when it is all tidied up and done. thanks again! Any questions feel free to ask.
