Midi Sync Issues

Hi Everyone,
Please excuse if this has been posted before. I couldn't find the answer I was looking for through searching.
I am using a MOTU Ultralite for live performance and use the midi out to sync a drum machine to everything in Live. This works great unless there is some sort of audio dropout (which happens about 1 in 4 times I play. I try to move to the next stage and the CPU monitor jumps from 2% to 85%), and then the midi becomes wildly out of sync. In that case I have to turn down the channel of the drum machine and refrain from using it for the rest of the set. Is there anyway to resync midi without stopping the set from playing entirely?
