Ableton Forum

My VST for Massive and Absynth are in the plug-in devices catagory. When I click on them the program comes up but I am not able to put the sounds onto ableton. Also at the bottom where you can name your sound, mine just says <disabled> Can someone please help?

hey, I responded in your other post, but I think I understand your problem a little better after reading this. When you opened absynth, did a weird green window pop up, or did it just load that little black box with the <disabled> window? If it is just that black box, you need to click on the little wrench button, and the actual instrument panel will pop up, then you should be looking at a huge library of sounds, if not, there is a "browser" button near the top of that screen, pressing that should show you the sounds, there's also a bunch of keywords there you can use to narrow down which types of sounds you are looking at.

So when I press the wrench absynth pops up with all of its sounds. What I dont understand is how do I get the sounds from absynth onto ableton live? Thanks for your help by the way.

yes, you should really use the help menu, and run through the ableton tutorials in there on getting started with ableton, as this would help you a lot since you seem to be struggling with basics. So, the sounds are already there, in absynth, which is loaded onto a track in ableton. The next step is to record arm the track. so, if you're in session mode there will be columns of tracks, one of those probably titled "absynth" at the top, near the very bottom of that column it should look like this: http://www.arkaos.net/blog/wp-content/u ... or-GVJ.png
see where it says "make track active"? and there's that little record button? if that is red, then you should be able to play notes into it. are you using a midi keyboard to enter notes? hope this helps.
