i have a need to map two different midi buttons to one parameter in Ableton, sort of as two differently configured macros,

currently I see ableton will always overwrite with in the midi menu the last controller touched for a given parameter.

is there a script or something (trick) that would allow me to map two buttons to the one parameter?

Either, reprogram your midi controllers to send the same message...

Or look into Bomes, Midi Stroke, COntrolAid as to how to choke one of the midi messages and translate it to be the same as the other...

You can't do what your asking without one of the above...
