Best possible macbook model for audio work now?

I upgrade my hardware every sixth year, so I need as good set up as possible. I prefer 13" screen size but if it limits available cpu power drastically I can go for 15".
How great difference there are between these ones considering the audio work of all kind?
MBA 13" (latest model) 1.8GHZ i7
MBP 15" (latest and more expensive one)
I'm more interested of number crunching than available than RAM/sample factor.
Thanks for suggestions

I have a quad core i7 mbp 15 and have not had any hiccups in Live no matter what I throw at it. Excellent machine. I think the 15 works well with layout of Live.

I have a 15" quad-core i7 MBP as well. Handles Live just fine.

Buy the fastest and most powerful machine that you can afford. The better it is, the longer it will last.

When it comes to audio processing there must be a big difference between those models listed. At least that's the idea I get. And if there's any truth behind benchmark test it seems to be so. Still "get the air!" is all I hear these days.

The Air has a slower processor, and it's only a dual core. The MBP has a quadcore, faster, AND it can hold 16gb of ram.
The MBP is way more powerful than the air. put an ssd in there and you're set.

I got the 15" on the refurbished page, saved quite a bit that way.
