resolume avenue 8 seems to be pretty similar to ableton, and can rewire i think.

you may find some useful open source apps at sourceforge with some searching.

€90 and we're adding a/v effects and global effects. But completely understand about max4Live we just love Quartz composer just as much as your love for M4L. Each to there own. Hope you found your solution.

absolutley;) but i must confess, that the results of quarz-composer look very nice! almost nicer^^
