Upgrade from live 2 to 4. Is it worth it?

Hello I just came across enough money to make the upgrade but I'm wondering if it's worth it. I have read all the documentation but I thought I'd ask you guys if it is worth it. Are the effects better? are there new ones? I don't use midi at all and I love live 2.0 buit if it's worth the upgrade I'd be glad to spend the money. Obviously, I'm asking a biased group of people but as I assume many of you are previous 2.0 owners I think your "word" will be very valuable. Please help me. Thanks!

if yer on mac, theres a big cpu performance gain in 4.0 and up

otherwise, it all depends on midi and clip editing.. do you want these things? if so, get 4

If Live 2 is doing what you need it to do and you aren't unhappy with anything about it, don't upgrade.

But try the live 4 demo :) (and prepare to fork out the upgrade money)
It's a lot more flexible and useable than L2 ever was.

Thanks everyone! I'll play with the demo and see. I could always use a new mic and for my needs it may be money better spent. Thanks again - Caleb

I can't say for sure cause I don't know your exact situation. I upgraded from 2 to 4. I like what I saw with the improvements from 2 to 3 but IMO 4's follow actions, MIDI capabilities and VST instrument capibilities made the upagrade to 4 a necessity. I haven't looked back.

hell yes it's worth it!

by only using 2, you're missing out on 2 of live's biggest features IMO.

-automation envelopes on clips

-VSTi support and midi sequencing
