Just repeating it here, again, in the silly hopes that someone important will take notice.

I've been using a Logic + Live combo recently for various project-specific reasons, and it's amazing to reflect how everything about the two sync'd via Rewire COULD be so perfect, if it weren't for the utterly crippling, horrible, unbeleivable fact that I can't load any third party plugs into Live when it's slaved to Logic. I use the Session View extensively. Now I can only use it for audio clips and devices native to live suite? That equals Functionally Useless for my purposes.

And yes I've tried IAC bus midi-sync, which offers very spotty performance at best, and offers no way to record audio from Live direct into Logic. And the soundflower workarounds are a nightmare. None of this crap would be even remotely needed if they just figured out how to put 3rd party plugs into slave mode.

It's like a bad joke at this point. For me it's worse than the lack of true Clip Automation.

i second this. I rewire Ableton and Reaper, and i'd love to be able to use Reaper as the master, but i can't because of that.

But you do know that it's been confirmed that we're not getting anything til at least 2013 right?

Oh, and I agree, if Fruity freaking Loops can host VSTs while in slave mode, Live should be able to as well.
Plus losing Max 4 Live in slave mode? WTF? Cman man!

Rewire is pointless without.
When using external summing, it would be nice to get an idea down quickly in session view using all the stronger features of ableton and then open something better to arrange.
Without all plugins being DISABLED GODAMMIT!

VST-support and coontrol-surface support in Rewire-mode is essential...

I fell in love with ableton about 2 years ago after having used logic 8 for a couple years previous, but now I'm starting to see the strengths and weaknesses of both, and I totally agree that it makes no sense for things to be set up this way. I want to use ableton to create racks, with vst's, and build up parts in clips mode, and then build an arrangement and do final mixing in Logic, but as it stands, the only way to do that is to export stems and drop them into logic. Integrate dammit!

control surface support is another biggie - really sucks not being able to use the launchpad etc... in Live

I also agree. 3rd party plugins and Max for Live should be useable in Rewire mode...!!!
