Cant select vst folder

I have been using Ableton Live on my MacBook for a while now, without problem. I now have a new windows computer and am switching over to it, and when I installed ableton live 8.2.7, then tried to select my vst folder, this happened:
So far i've tried: Repair registry, do chkdsk, reinstall Ableton Live, fully uninstall Ableton Live including data in AppData then reinstalling, download latest Ableton Live trial and install.
I assumed there would be a default VST folder, but I can't find one, and when I try to select a plugin it forces me to select a custom folder, which I can't do...
No luck so far... any ideas on how I could fix this?
