I appreciate your optimism, but if youve cold hard facts I wouldnt mind hearing! :) Ive only 4gbs of Ram so doubt Ill benefit from 64bit and also - alot of my stuff is run using soft synths, and thats all processing power. It would need to be a really good tested reason to shift my apathy.
Believe me, you will benefit from 64bit even with 4GB :D

For those who haven't updated yet -> better use the combo updater: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484
I've heard this several times to use the combo updater instead of software update when a new version comes out. But why?

I've always used software update & seemed OK to me over the years. Ready to update this week, just wondering the advantage of the combo updater...

I just pointed to the combo in this case, cause something was wrong with the delta (10.7.2 -> 10.7.3) update - btw they shortly after pulled the faulty delta:

The combo update contains all the updates since the first release of Snow Leopard/Lion etc. So in case something's wrong (under the hood) with your installation of OS X, the chance it can be "cured" with the combo update is simply higher, as more files are replaced.

http://pondini.org/OSX/Combo.html - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4567

I mostly download the combo (& keep) & generally prefer the manual downloads from Apple... Nothing "wrong" with the deltas though...

Btw: Snow Leopard is also 64 bit...

OK, but as long as you don't skip a version & just update to the very next version, software update should be the same thing right?

Eventually... If nothing was wrong before, from the result, yes...
