Ableton Suite and Akai MPK25

Hi All,
I need some help! I have searched the forum but nobody seems to have definitively answered this one even though its been brushed on before.
I have Live8 Suite and an Akai MPK25, in general this setup works, I have opened the Midi options in Live and selected the MPK 25 as a controller and when I select an instrument in live and press keys on the MPK the corrosponding notes play in the instrument also SOME of the controller knobs get mapped to controls in ableton as well. SO I knwo its not a comms issue as bothe ableton and the MPK are talking to each other over USB.. all good where thats concerned.
My issue is that the knobs dont seem to get mapped intuitivly.. ie say I select operator in ableton some of the knobs on the mpk control parameters in operator but not in any sensible order... the top row of knobs... the first 2 will control LFO or soemthing then the next 2 will start controlling random track volumes in live clip view! I have to twiddle knobs and look on the screen to see what seems to be moving at the time.... seems a bit mad to me.
I though that the problem might be that I have Ableton Suite and the preset on the MPK25 is for ABletonLite, so I have followed the instructions for "dumping" the midi setting from ableton to MPK via the dump button, ableton tells me to make sure my device is ready to receive midi dump I click yes and then nothing... there is no confirmation from either Ableton or the MPK that anything has happened? Theres no info in the MPK manual except how to get it ready to except midi dumps but basically i have no idea if it works or not... all I know is it doesnt seem to make any difference!
Anyone got any ideas or experience with this?
