I can't figure out how to get my automation to copy with my clip.

I have clips with plug-in automation. I copy the clips to another track (that has had the same plug-ins copied and pasted to it). I want to have the exact same automation, but even though all the related plug-ins are on the new track, the automation doesn't copy...

Also, when I finish a song, sometimes I'd like to drag the whole song back a second in order to put some silence in the beginning, but I can't find a way to select all and drag everything including the automation.

Any ideas?

For moving the whole song back you can use another command: Instead of dragging all the files to the right just highlight the amount of time that you want to have before the song. So if you want one bar of silence before your song starts you have to highlight the first bar and press [command] + on the Mac or probably [ctrl] + on Windows. This will insert silence and move everything else back, also your automation. It all stays perfectly aligned this way.

For copying automation data to another position or even another track there are different shortcuts. I can't look them up right now but if you do a right click with your mouse on that track you should see "copy automation data" or something like that pop up in the menu with the shortcut written next to it. I hope this solves your problem.
