After cloning my data from said HD to the new one today, I opened a session that I've been working on and my CPU indicator (which never breached 10% before) is now sitting at 100%-120% when I hit play.

This new HD has no bad sectors on it (as I tested it), so why is this happening? There are no other performance issues while using all other applications except for Ableton. Prior to this swap everything was butter. WTF.

Did you re-authorized Live?

Pls post the HD specs, both new and old.
I mean, Data Transfer Rate, SATA Interface used and so on. More than what appears on your signature.
