Trillian and automated control of effect parameters

Hi, I own a copy of spectrasonics Trillian which I really like, but i'm having an issue using the paramters of certain effects in the program not being active in ableton arrangement view.

To compare, if I were using Sylenth and I wanted to gradually change the cutoff paramter from high to low, I could lay that over the section of audio in arrangement. When I use trillian, instead of showing the cutoff, or any other effects I only have the option of "device on" or "1 level"

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

from what i remember, you have to right click on the trillian interface at the given knob or slider, and choose enable automation, and then ableton should be able to automate it..
