OK, that sums it up!

I'm trying to figure out how to be able to use the Line6 Guitar Amp live on stage while running R/R in slave mode under Ableton Live 8. MacBook pro, m-audio firewire 410 interface.

i can get the programs to boot up nicely, Record is in slave mode, and all that. the problem is that on my audio track in Record, it won't allow me to choose my Input 1 for my guitar.

i tried starting Record alone, setting the input, saving, closing, starting Live, starting Record, but still no dice.

does this make sense? am i missing something? is anyone doing this or something similar?

thanks!
ron

Ableton Live is probably in charge of your audio interface. Send audio into a Live channel. Route that Live channel into Record.

hmm, not sure i completely follow...

Live doesn't allow me to route a channel's audio to Record. even if it did, Record doesn't let me edit or assign inputs or outputs, whether i try via Preferences or directly from the sequencer.

i think i get your idea, but it doesn't seem to give me an option to do that.

any other ideas, or could you walk me thru what you're suggesting?
thanks!
