Recording Clips into Arrangement - Clip Start Marker Issue

I'm not sure if this is bizarre behavior or I'm missing something?
I'm recording a rough live arrangement for a track from Session View into the Arrangement
and I have several clips which have Start Markers at Bar 1 and then loop from say Bar 3 to Bar 5...
so they'll play from the start for one measure and then loop:
When I go to the Arrangement recording... the measures before the loop brace get chopped up into quarter and eighth length
clips followed by a solid clip once the Looped section starts (though sometimes this is out by a bit too):
I would expect it to see a solid 2 bar 'intro clip' followed by the 'looped clip', not this. (above)
Wondered if anyone else has experienced this or if I'm just missing something obvious?
(I'm on OSX 1.7.3, 8.2.2 )
