A/V syncrhonization inquiry

Hello,
I am using Live 7 on a powerbook G4 running Leopard 10.5.8.
Right now, I am in the process of preparing an audio/visual live set.
Do you think that it would be ''safe'' to present this a/v set live? I will be using one single stereo track played simultaneously in 5 audio tracks and then routed internally from Ableton to my interface's inputs. [MOTU Ultralite].
The video I want to synchronize with the audio will be around 40 GB in size.
My concern is whether it would be possible to perform this in the context of a live perfomance by using this video and one .aiff file [40 minutes / around 300 MB] played by 5 or 6 stereo audio channels simultaneously and routed to my interface 8 inputs.
If a powerbook is not ok to do this, do you think that this could happen with a mac book pro?
Can you just suggest me what would be the best and safest way to present live this A/V project?
Thanks.
