how does it compare to the freebie 'Dominion' plugin?? I use the dominion quite a lot and find the results pretty good... but does the hardware SPL unit blow the plugin out of the water?

Cheers

Carl.

I've never used the plug-in, but have heard about it. I do have the 2 channel version of transient designer and it is my favorite piece of rack gear. The sound is pretty unique -it can be used simply in a musical way for a different kind of compression sound, or it can be used more like a utility in that you may have a loop with lots of air, reverb, or space around it and the SPL can make it sound more "dead".

i have the licenced software version for the creamware audiocards. it's a great plugin, and like DEgde wrote, it has 'that' sound, so i tend not to overuse it. (you can have six instances running at a time (licence restriction), but i also have the transient attacker (another six instances)).

http://www.cwaudio.de/ check the 3rd party plugins on the left hand side.

the waves "trans x n trans x multi "is a great alternative .
