iPad as Ableton drum controller

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the iPad to trigger and record the drums in Ableton? If so, what apps and what additional connections are required?

I was thinking of getting a Padkontrol, but since I already have an iPad it might be a less expensive way to trigger drum sounds. I do not expect the iPad to function as well as a dedicated piece of hardware, but I would like to give it a try.

Thanks.

OK, so I did some research and answered my own question.

I purchased MidiPads from the app store after I got the free version to work. It connects to Ableton using the AudioMidi Setup Utility in the MacOS (I'm running Lion). It triggers well and has velocity by where you tap on the pad (center is the loudest). The default pads are opposite of the Ableton drum racks (what shows in the lower left in the drum rack is triggered by the upper left pad), but the assignments can be changed and saved as a preset. This is a bit of a chore, but not to bad. I think that the Ableton setup should be a preset that comes with the app.
