Anyone else get the error message "this is not a valid session file" when setting PT as their sample editor and trying launch it from clip view?

I have PT 10 on Mac OSX 10.6.8 with Ableton 8.27 and I've set PT up in Preferences as the sample editor app.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated....

thanks!

Hey There

Not 100% what you are trying to setup, are you wanting to make Pro Tools run as Rewire slave to Ableton? If so pretty sure it won't work Pro Tools has to be the master.

I am running PT 10 on OSX 10.7.2 and running Ableton in rewire mode with no problems. Using Ableton to trigger loops and track them in Pro Tools.

Hope you get it sorted

Cheers

no. there's an option to edit audio clips inside an external sample editor

most DAWs cannot be used as a straight up sample editor in that way. every DAW i can think of uses some kind of project or session file in which samples/tracks/devices etc. are loaded.
