iElectribe ipad App as a controller for audio units in live?

I tried to see if i could find any posts similar to this but didn't see any, so apologies if this is a duplicate!

does anyone know if it is possible to use the korg iElectribe-R ipad app as a midi controller for audio units/vst plugins in Live? i like the ease of use and layout of the step sequencer in it, and i feel like that should be something that could be done if the functionality is programmed into it (but i am at work and most internet searches are blocked and too impatient to wait until i get home). if there is, could you let me know how? not a huge fan of the sound the app produces on its own so i haven't used it in a while. would be nice to be able to use it to control higher quality plugins.

i contacted korg but have not yet heard back from them.

thank you.

No you can't. That app only does what you already know.

If you want to control plugins from your ipad I recommend TouchOSC or the Lemur iPad app. Both output OSC and MIDI over Wifi.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/touchosc/id288120394

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lemur/id481290621

The problem using Wifi is that depending on your network you can have a noticeable lag. There's a way of sending those messages over USB but it involves Jailbreaking the iPad.

thanks! if i had the programming abilities i would make an ipad app devoted to being a step sequencer like that app or old roland drum machines. it seems like an idea that is just ripe for the making, you know what i mean?
