QuestionsAbleton browser-based file organization (relinking)

Hello.
I'd like to ask for people's experiences in organizing vast sample libraries.
If you're like me then you've been collecting samples for many years. They are organized for the most part, but newer samples always pile up.
My questions are: When you move files from folder to folder within the ableton file browser, does ableton update the links to those files, so older sessions can still find them? How reliable is it?
I want to completely rip apart my sample library and make a new file structure. What are the up-s and down-s with this?
I'm sure similar things have been discussed before, but I'm talking specifically about how older sessions handle the moved samples.

You will get a message in the command line saying "Samples are missing" when they are moved, and it will say "double click here to learn more" or something
So you can double click and it will open the project manager to your screen right.
Missing samples will be shown in browser fashion with a hotswap button by them. When you click the hotswap button you can relocate the samples in the browser, Screen left.
Sometimes live will find a bunch of relocate samples for you and ask if you want to update the others it found.
When your done with this process, click SAVE in the projects manager and now when you open these older sets they will have the new file path you set.

That sounds right, but are you sure it doesn't do that automatically when only moving files within the browser (screen left). It would make a lot of sense that ableton would relink its database to know the new location since its the one performing copy/move. Does it work like that or am I wrong?
maybe i should move this to the "requests for next version" thread hahaha

If you move your files from the Live browser, they will automatically be re-linked, and you won't have any "missing file" problem.

I was certinly planning on it but I think its better to get advise on something like this before I go metchete around my sample library.
When I got this computer, I organized all my samples by type in neat subfolders. But as I purchased/got new samples, I hastily copied them to a folder called "packs". So now I want to dissect each of those packs into my original file structure. Afterwards i'll database it with soundminer!
