If I upgrade from Live to Suite, will I be paying the difference (250) or do I have to pay the full $649?

If you have Live 8 you pay less than the difference.

You should be able to just log into your account and select what you want to purchase or upgrade and it shows you the cost. It's actually one of the easiest purchase systems for DAW software I have used. After paying, you can just download the software, do the activation and you are good to go.

When I bought Suite from the LP edition I was up and running with a new package and new instruments within 30 minutes. I then just had to wait 2 weeks for the content to arrive

Says you pay $579 for download or $649 for box.

Are you logged in with the account that you registered Live with?

For instance, I own Suite 8 -- from my screen when I click the link, there is only one product shown:

You definitely do not pay full price on Suite if you own 8. The prices above look about right.
