Hi, basically what I want to do is make bootleg type things by putting the vocals of one song with the tune of another, I do a bit with acapellas on my turntables and scratch mixer but want some software that will make everything the right speed automatically and allow me to chop bits up and perhaps add extra drums etc, somebody suggested Ableton live is it any good will it do what i want? I have no real experience of production and no midi equiptment etc

any help would be gratly appreciated Tom

Ableton is great for the cheeky bootleg. If you haven't downloaded the demo yet then get to that first. The demo shows you how to use it and gives a brief education on what all of us here go crazy for. Even though you don't have any experiance in production your ears know what sounds good. Take it easy.

ableton is actually the only program I'd use for a project like that.

you can set "warp markers" on all of your source material that will automaticly sync the tempo of every instrumental, acapella; etc.

Yep. Lots of people also use Acid for this so try both before committing. Personally I prefer Live.
