This is the one that I have been using for years. Converts nearly everything into everything, can save presets, do batch processing and it is free:

I use this one: http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html

converts all audio files into all other audio-file-formats

No problems here with max on Lion.

However, out of curiosity, why would someone want to convert mp3 to wav? Have too much hard drive space and need to fill it?

A lot of Live djs do it after realizing that they bought mp3s but live converts to wav anyway. Saves caching space, and a lot of times fixes some stability issues.

To use them at all in Reason or Pro Tools for instance.

Most DAWs can't read compressed files in realtime. Ableton included from what I can gather!

Audacity will also convert MP3 to WAV :)

Also consider using AIF also if you're on OSX.

AIF files on osx keep the megatags of the mp3 file after conversion.

I use to rip my CD to AIFF for that unique reason.

The WAV files loose the attributes of the original mp3 files.
