Real-time vocal harmonizer, alternative to Vocal Transformer

I've been using the Vocal Transformer plug-in in Logic/MainStage
to layer my vocal in real-time, by using the "robotize" function to keep
wet signal to a pitch (F, F#, G, etc.) while retaining the formants, mixed
with the dry to have a choir-like sound (two-part harmony).

Also, I've mapped some notes from the keyboard to shift the pitch of
the altered vocal, so I can control the harmonies.

It would be great to be able to do this all in Live. Specifically, I want
to prepare and trigger MIDI clips to change the altered vocal pitch,
depending on the part of the song. Does anyone know of a AU plugin
or M4L device that would achieve this effect?

Most I found were straight pitch-shifting, which doesn't work for me
because the altered vocal moves with the original. With the "robotize"
function in Vocal Transformer, I can sing different notes and the altered
vocal keeps to the specified pitch.

Thanks for the tip, 3dot...! I saw this neat video on vocoder
a couple weeks ago, but didn't think about using it for my purpose.
I wonder how "natural" the altered vocal can sound.

I'll experiment and post the result.

Ooh, a "real-time polyphonic pitch processor". It does sound like
what I need. I appreciate the tip, theophilus, thanks.

Reading deeper into what it does, as impressive as the software is,
it's a bit much in terms of price and features for my purpose. It can
take individual sounds out of a mixed signal and repitch/harmonize
them, with special attention to natural-sounding vocal processing.

Mm, there's a demo so I can try it -- though I can't imagine buying
such a hefty plugin for the one effect which I already have in Logic.

It's a simple-looking little plugin, the Vocal Transformer, and this
"robotize" function is just an on/off button and a note-selector
knob.

Times like this I wish I knew how to program. Better start learning
M4L, I guess.

After a couple weeks of searching, it seems that for a professional-level
vocal harmonizer, I'd best look at commercial software, something like what
theophilus suggested.

For my purpose, this seems to fit the bill:

Controlling the harmonized vocals via MIDI notes, exactly what I want to
achieve. Seeing that the commercial options usually offer some kind of
algorithm for "natural" or "human" sound, I understand it's not so simple
as I'd thought.
