Is there a way to copy and paste midi map settings between sets?
It would save a whole lot of time.
Thanks

I agree with your sentiments, as I've ran into this problem before. Unfortunately I don't think there is a good answer. If your mapping is really standardized, like to certain scenes or devices you use in every project, you can save a pre-mapped set as your default template, I believe.
I think in the past I tried dragging tracks from old projects (through the browser) into new ones, but if I recall the mappings do not come with.

I agree with he default template solution if you tend to use the same instruments over and over. Even if you don't, load a good few instrument racks and map the morphs to your controller and save as the default set. Then you can configure what the morphs do within your instruments on a track by track basis. I have done this for all my hardware by combining with external instruments and it has made life a lot easier.

Would be GREAT if they added an Export feature for MIDI/KEY mapping. I have a default set that has loads of mapped controls for all my functions. This is fine UNTIL I decide through normal use that I shoudl change the way something works and remap a different command. This is fine and dandy for all future sets but if I open an older set I have to then re-set the maps on any older set. Took me close to 6 months before I committed a default template because of this.

duplicate midi track then hot swap the instrument with the one you want
the only workaround

I have become more consumed with fixing this annoying problem of having no way to have save my mappings. I'm currently trying to figure out whether this work around or the remote scripts work around would be better suited for me...
I have midi mapped some parameters in Live and have saved as a live template as suggested. Now when I open up a new set, I get the one instrument I made custom mappings for appear at the start. This is good, but I could see this being a problem too. Does this mean that once I have opened this template, that I have to leave those instruments in the template throughout? So if I have a variety of instruments (gladiator vst, sampler, etc) all with their midi mappings, can I not delete one if I don't need it at first? Will I still be able to recall it later with it's mappings still intact?
Thanks

or the obvious way:
Save project as default template.
Everytime you will create a new project, it would have every midi mapped inside
a lot of users have a custom default template for our specific setup and use
