Uh.. Oh.. FLStudio now has performance mode

Now they are adding the new performance mode. Just might do anything that Live can do and much much more. C'mon Ableton. Don't get left behind. I've been using Ableton Live since v2. But the past few years Ableton seems to have stagnated.

You've used Ableton since version 2 and would seriously consider a jump to to *Fruity Loops* because this late in the game they've started copying ableton's functionality? Wack...how well has ableton really been working for you, I wonder...

A very useful clone of MLR thats been used on monome for ages. I really like it.
I was hoping Ableton would release something similar without going the Max4Live route as i find it unstable, but I've completely lost interest now due to the lack of communication or anything from Ableton.

I would purchase FL in an instant if it was available for mac.

I've been looking forward to the new Traktor version 2.5 which should be fun for DJing but its a couple of months away yet. However, at least i know its coming though and am happy to wait.

Actually, I would never consider FLStudio. I was simply noticing that all the other DAWs are advancing in so many ways. Ableton has worked perfect for me for many years. Even with the issues over the past couple of years, I still recommend Ableton Live frequently to other musicians.

I was a hardcore FL user till I found Ableton. I will never go back unless they do something amazing.

I was an FL user too. I like it, its good, but Ableton's workflow for me, is so much simpler and quicker. Ableton seems more logical in the way you do things, and a lot more flexible. I love Ableton, i really do, so much so, i'm thinking of not only using it for production, but also to dj with. I'm looking at trading in Traktor 2 and Vestax VCI 100 mk2 to getting a Vestax VCI 600.

Am I the only one who's fed up with all the sore arses over "lack of reinvention" or whatever? Do you realise that people have been making awesome music for centuries with nothing but a piano, some paper and a pen? (insert favourite rock band here) have made music with a drum kit, a bass guitar, one or two guitars and a vocalist. They've been doing this for decades, and they're still doing it.

My point is: if you feel that Ableton Live, with its endless possibilities (and maybe a plugin or two) won't allow you to make music, then maybe music is not really for you?

(OK; I've had quite a bit of wine tonight, but, in a nutshell, those are my feelings on the matter. I think we're all experts at making excuses.)

Yes, people also used to rub sticks together to make a fire.
We clearly don't owe any technological progress to you then, do we?

I might jump ship if Ableton doesn't put time stretch in the sampler/simpler soon. And looks like this new FL might fit the bill!!!

Its interesting that when other daws throw in abletons core n basic function (loops n live performance) it's called progress. But ableton slowly developing into a daw from a performance tool is basically overlooked. This addition is great for fruity users...but no REAL reason for those dedicated here to jump ship.
