I Just purchased a simple Mic thinking I could record some vocal stuff
for My productions nothing fancy mind you . I Plugged my Mic into into The slot on My dj Mixer
(behringer djx700) & tried to record a few things and It doesn't work.
I get sound in The headphones & on My Monitors but
but not in Live
Oddly enough It works when I record off vinyl, does anyone have a clue why this is.

thanks
Oh & think this Is my first Post

Are you sure you mic doesn't need phantom power?

This is a routing problem, obviously, as you are getting sound. It's nothing to do with phantom power and since you can record from vinyl, it's nothing to do with Live either. Make sure you're routing the mic to the outputs you are recording from.

Are you sure your Microphone is switched to the on position?

Also, you can get a converter to switch xlr to whatever else you want. go to radio shack and look for an Xlr => ____ (insert audio cable connection of choice here [maybe 1/8th inch if youre trying to use your computer's sound card])

that's the free advice of the day.

Kovacs I'm sorry about what my son said to you

sounds like you:

1) need to select the correct input in Live

2) Turn monitor on in Live

Presonus has a nice single input tube one, about $100.
