Live mixes with the Launchpad

So my last post went a little (okay alot) off topic and my question was never really answered, so what im going to do is ask the questions and leave out the unimportant parts lol

My first question really has nothing to do with the launchpad, but still the DJing part. What tempo do you set the DAW tempo to when all of the tracks themselves have different warp tempos?
I plan on using several tempo related effects on the tracks (such as beat repeat and fade to grey) so having the individual warp tempos is really important

My second question was is there a way that i could manually do the "Beat Repeat" type of glitch live using the pads on the launchpad? Similar to this video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvIpFYN-E6A

I dont want to go on stage and just press play, i want to be engaged with my mix and get the crowd pumped.

Any and all responses will be appreciated (Unless you're a dick about it, then you can just leave)! Thanks(:

In the video he's playing individual samples so youd have to cut all your music into clips like this to be able to play them...

Momentary control of beatrepeat is not possible from the launchpad as it send out midi notes rather than midi cc so as long as your ok with toggling the effect on then off with the second push you'll be ok....

As for tempo, whatever tempo you want, ableton will play all your clips at the same tempo....

okay thanks(: i'll probably set up one or two of the tracks into a drum-rack, since that automaps to User 1 mode.

yeah i've checked that out in the past, the only thing i dont like about it is that i have to constantly make sure that its on the outside of all of my tracks, makes the writing/mixing process really annoying. i'd rather memorize blank pads that deal with that lol

I have it that when i enter user 1 mode it automatically turns the right midi track to the correct settings to send feedback to the launchpad.... Max4Live though, part of my Oktopad device....

I've considered trying Max for Live to do it, any suggestions?
