i dont get it with madeon. the kids love him.. i just dont hear anything that spectacular with him . I want to be cool. I want to like what the kids like. i just cant hear it. .... fuck.. i guess i'm officially old.

I've never heard of madeon and I don't care. Am I ubercool?

I guess, like his soundcloud page advertises it, it's because hes a 17 years "old" producer becoming famous, like justin bieber?

kids look for people to identify and dream about themselves... I guess you are more cool to kids if you're a special one...

BTW, just had an ear to some of his tracks, that's well made, produced, and definitely fits a "niche"... definitely "french" ala justice and followers...

I don't hear anything spectacular from lots of popular artists, so what. You don't have to be old to not "get" something.

Madeon... is 17 and sounds decent. Blows kids minds apparently.

I have not heard madeon... checking it out right now actually.

Do you like funky electro house in general? That's what I consider Madeon and I think he's quite good at it.

If nothing else I think it's got a lot more going on than Deadmau5.

i guess the style of music is not really my bag to begin with.. the post was prompted by some posts i've seen on the internet, and a few reviews. they were calling him a musical god, and putting him on a serious musician level. If i'm not mistaken he uses other peoples music and mix/mashes it. thats cool, i was just expecting to hear some original stuff, but i listened after i read the hype. i'm not really trying to bash the guy, but rather myself, for not really liking what kids like,, and that makes me feel old.

Both are mild to me... Im say "Meh" more and more... granted thats due to my palette becoming more skreachy and bassy and such.

I don’t know how old you are but I’m 39 and instantly understood the appeal and appreciate the fact that kids like the music because I was feeling way old and out of the loop when confronted with bro step as the latest greatest thing. At least Madeon has some groove and mood to his music.

But maybe as a general lesson here, if you hear any kids putting an electronica producer on a God pedestal I wouldn’t expect that to ever equate to skilled musicianship.
