Re: A Question For Republicans
The question (actually end statement) also pre-supposes that socialized health care in other first world countries is actually an awesome thing and works better. It doesn't. No amount of goofy NYTimes articles and Michael Moore documentaries will change the fact that it's broken (or breaking) in many countries. ffs. Several Euro countries have seen an explosion of both private healthcare and insurance in the last decade because people are fucking fed up, lol. And can we talk about how many wealthy Europeans and Canadians love to fly to the states for treatment? Yes, yes we can.stringtapper wrote:Doesn't the question pre-suppose that the person being asked agrees that a "health care problem" exists?beats me wrote:I’ll simply ask again the question that you ignored in a previous thread.
What is your solution to the health care problem AND you really think our government is more corrupt or inefficient than the other first world countries that have already had socialized health care for a long time?
Feel free to ignore that question. Again.
The reason it's worked (sort of...up until now, anyway) in many of those countries is that the fucking populations are 1/10th that of the United States. Hell, most are far less. It's way easier to manage that kind of thing. The sheer numbers here will require a bureaucracy the likes of which the world has never seen. Are you fine with that? Really? Because it scares the ever loving shit out of me and many other Americans. It's FAR more difficult to be corrupt when the number of government workers responsible for healthcare oversight in Denmark could fit into a Volkswagon minibus. But here in the USA? see: GSA fun in Vegas. No oversight until well after the fact because the number of motherfucking GSA workers is probably EQUAL to the entire population of Denmark. LOL.
My answer is actually quite simple, and Romney had it 100% correct when he was governor: Let each State decide. There's absolutely ZERO fucking reason for some massive national healthcare system. wtf? Why not simply approach this on a more European scale? At the State level. Vermont, Oregon, Maine, and California decide they want their State government to run everyone's healthcare? Awesome. Fantastico. That should be their God Given Right as socialists. lol.

I can't really argue with any of that.

okay so basically you're saying that this culture of fear is with us for the long hall. the only reason their would be an apocalypse in the first place is because one of teds cousins would press the red button. honestly the teds of the world are afraid of gay people, afraid of _insert people here______, afraid of everything under the sun including their own shadows it's pretty ridiculous, and all of their guns, arrows, cowboy hats, and john wayne reruns don't seem to be making them any less insecure.LoopStationZebra wrote:When the zombie apocalypse hits, are you going to want ass-kicking bow hunting skin-em-whilst-their-still-warm Ted Nugent on your team? Or some namby pamby dyed-in-the-wool sensitive lefty who's prattling on about the rights of illegal immigrants and attends every Occupy demonstration in the hope that Big Bankers and Big Oil will play fair?
Think about it carefully before answering, bro.

again unfortunately partying with ted could get me lynched, at least with the tax the rich guy I could actually close both of my eyes if I got too tuckered out to drive home and had to crash on the couch.... but the teds of the world on the other hand would have me wake up naked in the forest while they tell me to run and not worry cause they'll give me a 10 min head start
i don't think so

Which culture of fear? Yours or the other side's? Because you know and I know that both of you have one.starving student wrote:okay so basically you're saying that this culture of fear is with us for the long hall.
He said zombie apocalypse, ss. We know politics isn't your strong suit, but you're breaking my heart with science fiction fail.starving student wrote:the only reason their would be an apocalypse in the first place is because one of teds cousins would press the red button.

You're going to die of a heart attack at an early age if you actually walk around living with this kind of paranoia.starving student wrote: again unfortunately partying with ted could get me lynched, at least with the tax the rich guy I could actually close both of my eyes if I got too tuckered out to drive home and had to crash on the couch.... but the teds of the world on the other hand would have me wake up naked in the forest while they tell me to run and not worry cause they'll give me a 10 min head start

That was just my best guess. I know how LSZ feels about socialism.
Me, I don't give a fuck unless legalizing cannibalism is on the ballot.

nope they have clearly shown that at best that could be # 3, god is first, gun rights is second, and then so called fiscal responsibility which I didn't list because for both parties it's not a sincere notion.

umm actually loopsy was the one who included zombies in a political discussion not I, you might want to re-read and think about that one cause there is an epiphany some where waiting for you to start its day.stringtapper wrote:Which culture of fear? when it comes to fear I'm afraid of two things, which is very different from being afraid of everything.
1. I'm afraid of a scary fool with a gun and
2. I'm afraid of trayvon martin

Re: A Question For Republicans
thanks for the concern string but I think it would be less wasted on ted himself, next year he's going to either be dead or in jail, you and I should start an interventionstringtapper wrote:You're going to die of a heart attack at an early age if you actually walk around living with this kind of paranoia.starving student wrote: again unfortunately partying with ted could get me lynched, at least with the tax the rich guy I could actually close both of my eyes if I got too tuckered out to drive home and had to crash on the couch.... but the teds of the world on the other hand would have me wake up naked in the forest while they tell me to run and not worry cause they'll give me a 10 min head start

See, you making the point that LSZ brought zombies into the discussion is actually not a point at all because this is what I said:starving student wrote:umm actually loopsy was the one who included zombies in a political discussion not I, you might want to re-read and think about that one cause there is an epiphany some where waiting for you to start its day.
I highlighted it there for you so you can see that I already made it clear to everyone that LSZ was the one who brought them into the discussion. So why are you repeating it? Your "science fiction fail" resulted from you confusing a vanilla apocalypse that some right-wingers might start with a zombie apocalypse that will almost certainly be started by the Chinese. You're welcome for the clarification.stringtapper wrote:He said zombie apocalypse, ss. We know politics isn't your strong suit, but you're breaking my heart with science fiction fail.
