$40 is a lot of money for fairly basic DJ app. I dont know why but I think the idea od iPad DJing and using the iPhone for cueing is kind of cool (I use djay for messing around at home sometimes). But that's a lot of cash when you can't even try it first.

Oh dude... Ik multi has a dj app. If u want a dj app, I suggest ik.. I have Amplitube on my iPhone, it works well. It was about $20.. But I wanted it.. An expensive app...
But you know... The sound n functionality gotten off a cell phone, does not beat, or even match a computer. ** yet
That said, if I was going to dj off an iPad, id go the ik multimedia route.

One of the dumbest things about all the dj apps, is that they all use the same realistic jog wheel set up, and I think it's a dumb interface for a touch device to use.

Yup, agree.
And id like to have effect macros/effects xy pad or some other effect controll on the front gui at all times. Having to go in and out of menues while mixing is just useless.
Its like: "err how to we design a telephone gui on a touch screen? I know; we use a circular disk with numbers that has to be turned arround for every number dialed. Like the oldscool phones. That should work, because everybody knows those. And that is how far our imagination reaches anyway."

"The “FX hold” feature allows you to lock down an audio effect on a precise setting point. These features are the gateway to a whole new spectrum of creative possibilities."
Ok, anyway.. This one actually looks decent. I still wish for something for the pro djs: ability to hide the eqs. I use a real mixer for gods sake! And ability to display only one player. iOS has only 1 stereo out anyway, but it is more then cool to use the ipad as a replacement for a CDJ +music archive.
There is one App for iPad that is just a simple one track player with a huge wave form. But it is expencive if I remember corect, and no free demo. Also, I would want to run external audio through the effects. A few simple and basic futures so I can leave the laptop home when doing drinking and dirty dj jobs. Id still use laptop for live sets, but those times I tend to be sober. I rather bring cds then laptops for dj gigs.
Traktor, Serato, all the other pro dj software, what is taking so long?
