help help
I installed some VST for Ableton Live (Mac OS) but I cannot use them, there's a red sign on the folders and when I try to open the folder the Mac says that I don't have the privilege to open it
what the hell does it mean?
what can I do?

You can try to restore/fix disk permissions using Disk Utility. This checks and fixes the disk permissions of the entire harddrive.

Or/And right click on the troubling folder and choose 'Get Info'. At the bottom there's a section for permissions as well, check if these are set to you. If you log in as Administrator at OSX startup, that's the one you should at least check. This might fix the permissions, but just for this particular folder only.

I had this problem with several folders and it was resolved using both methods.

If you can't change anything at the bottom in the 'Get Info' window, click the 'lock' at the bottom to temporarily unlock the folder settings.

My mate is using Live Lite (Akai MPK25 edition) on his Mac and we can't get Live to find any VSTs at all - they are on his machine, and we point the plugin folder in the right place, but nothing shows up except AUs. Very frustrating. Any ideas?
