I am mixing hard techno , and I know the better its warped the more blended the hard kicks will sound. What do most people do as far as they bass knobs go. I think both tracks sound more even when all the EQ;s are cranked up all the way on EQ3 . Iam personally not to crazy about abletons eq3 and I wouldnt normally have all the eq's up on any other thing but in this case i think it sounds more filled in. ANy ideas on how to mixing to hard techno track so it doesnt sounds so knocky, and I know alot of it is your track selection as well

Try out the different warping algorithms. If you are in 'beats' mode you might be loosing some of the fullness due to Live trying to keep your transients accurate at the cost of the sustain of the noises. Also check this out http://www.heatercore.net/2010/03/dj-eq.html
