I also just upgraded to 8GB RAM and it made quite a big difference to the computer's performance...

No troubles at all with 10.7.3 running on the about the lowest specs Lion supposedly handles.
My MBP is a 2006 model with 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo and 3 Gb RAM.
You're using the onboard soundcard right? Try using a dedicated soundcard and see if that helps.

Dont worry about hysterical imbecils and trolls. None of people I know (in real life) has, ever mentioned ANY issues or difference as compared to SL, but there are plenty of advantages.

update - I started getting the issue again last night - I had it once before when drivers weren't updated for a new OS so I thought it might be that, but it looks like this time it might just be my audio interface on the way out.

So strike that off the list against lion!

410 being problematic - who'da thunk it?

FWIW Lion is fine here (and viva MOTU!).
