Post your latest brick wall track

Post by beats me » Sun May 06, 2012 10:11 pm

The latest track that probably won't get finished because you shot your load too quickly and can't figure out how to dial it back. Or you've got a nice little groove going but can't figure out how to parlay that into a full blown song. Or after thinking it was great you worked on it some more to where you now think it's SHIT. Or it is in fact SHIT but you're an unfinished track hoarder. :x

No. That's a rude host. :x

I want to hear other people's tracks on a lazy Sunday and I'll shimmy a track in there somewhere.

A bit of a departure from your usual music, no? I like it but seems a bit like the live show jam band breakdown of another more structured track.

One thing I appreciate about dance-centric music that I can't apply to my own music is subtle changes to make things less monotonous. In that regard I think you succeeded. I don't know how you would want to do things different, and really, an entire album to listen to. :x

i think the problem here is, we are good at making a chorus but not so good at making a verse and a bridge.

hahah
This thread is the story of my life. :)

These tracks are awesome to listen to. I make so much crap that I never finish. It's like, if I don't finish it in 1-2 sittings, it never gets done.

This track was meant to be licensed for a commercial :)

I used to (and still today) have serious issues making more than 1 minute of "cool stuff" happen. Me and my friends always joked about how I was great at making... ringtones. :(

Here's my dual entry -- I thought I had an awesome thing going on, but it was kind of split between a filter housey version, which I never make so it was fun to jam with, and a deep tech version, which is much more close to my usual... After jamming for a day, I never went back to it, even though I was so excited originally. I opened the files the next day and was like "uhhhhh"

Housey: http://soundcloud.com/arsenal/2012-04-0 ... se/s-MMqSu
Techy: http://soundcloud.com/arsenal/2012-04-0 ... me/s-dYG0H

I think it would be cool if the community worked with each other one some tracks, maybe via Skype or something. I think it would be cool to work with someone else on their ringtone. :)
