2012 macbook pro, constant hiss with ableton??

Hey,
So I've recently purchased a macbookpro 15, and so far I have been pretty disappointed with everything in general other than how it looks and feels.
The biggest problem is how ableton runs on it... and even bigger is this unbearable constant hiss/white noise from the headphone jack. This is only present when I am using ableton.
It is absolutely ridiculous, has anyone else come across this problem/how did they fix it?
btw I am running bootcamp and windows seven + ASIO4ALL.
(The reason for this is many plugins I need are only compatible with windows, and many of my unfinished projects were started on windows)
thanks

first thing that springs to mind.. is possibly your audio settings in ableton
preferences...
audio....
run a test tone
this might help

Well the strange thing is, if I don't have a big project loaded, it's fine. With a couple of synths loaded it will be no problem, but as soon as I load a large project the hissing starts...

I had this problem the other day when plugging from the headphone jack (2010 MacBookPro) in to a different mixer from normal. My understanding from reading about many people having hissing problems with MacBookPros is that it is to do with the impedance of the the amp/mixer/headphones being used.= ie higher impedance = hiss gone. I haven't had a chance yet to check this out properly but it was a real shock when I realised I was responsible for the hiss the other day.

It is probably ground loop hum. Does the hiss stop when you unplug the laptop?

heh.. mine used to do this... solved by addition of external audio interface...
unrelated but in addition to wierd interference loop...
the macbook pro AC adapter smoked and blew up
then the logic board died
finally my iPhone charger caught fire and failed.
haha
had to share

I have tried the test tone and the hiss disappears when the test tone is on, but as soon as it is turned off, the hiss returns. I have tried running ableton without the laptop plugged in to no avail..
Is there no viable solution, because this white noise is making producing impossible...

yeah - this is why we use external audio interfaces
i assume you get this when you use OSX too?
(always surprised to see so many people running windows on macs!)

If it couldnt run windows, would never have taken a chance with Mac and OSX.
As it is my 2011 MBP seems really good for running cubase and live under windows 7 compared to previous experiences with even decent PC laptops, though I normally use Live with OSX.
@OP - you really should invest in an audio interface.
As for the hiss - sorry no idea. Im actually surprised as while I use to get all sort of issues with noise and headphone jack with many PC laptops, never had it with any mac Ive used over the last few years, but then in UK/europe tend to have less ground issues anyway than people seem to get in the US.

Besides my constant tinnitus hiss i hear a high pitched noise on my 2011 MBP when i connect a firewire edirol audiointerface.
