Where the fuck is my sample? Please help

Honestly ableton is really starting to piss me off. I asked a simple question the other day about how to make sure ALL of my shit saves and someone told me the collect all and save feature would make sure all of my samples saved to the project folder.
Well lets just say that yesterday I lost a few of my recent racks entirely. It seems like I can't do a single bit of organizing to my als and project files without something fucking up.
So I lost those tracks and said fuck it, there is no getting them back so why be upset. I lifted myself up and started a new track last night which I was very pleased with.
So I pulled up the new track today and everything was like it was supposed to be. In order to avoid the incident that happened yesterday I decided I wanted to put this new track into an entirely new project folder, get all my shit organized, and back it up on my flash drive.
So I dragged the als file into a new project folder and was going into the actual song to rename all of my samples and organize everything before I backed it up.
Low and behold ONE of my key samples is "offline"! I had 3 main samples on there. All of them were from the same audio track that I sliced to midi and played different parts to. Why in god's name are the other 2 there but only 1 is missing?
Is it hiding somewhere in my computer because I tried to move the file? I don't understand why only 1 would be missing.
This shit is really getting old. It seems like it's literally impossible to organize my music and delete old unwanted tracks without something important going missing.
