so this all began when i wanted to try and export a portion of a song in session view. apparently that is not recommended and you should do it in arrangement view which i then went to.

unfortunately in arrangement view im having a multitude of problems:

1) not only can i not hear any audio when i play the song but also
2) there is a strange high pitch interference which intensifies and then dies down constantly and
3) i hear that you are supposed to remove all warp markers before selecting a portion of the song to export, but when i do that my ability to highlight sections of the song go away.

help would be appreciated with this as i am sure that i can still create songs in arrangement view but i just cannot listen to existing mp3s or chop them up.

Thanks

This makes absolutely no sense. Not sure where you saw that but ignore it.

The workflow is normally that you use session view to perform your song with the record button on. This prints everything you do out for you into arrangement view. Once you have it all in arrangement view, the clips you had in session are no longer used. a copy is what is in arrangement view. There is a "back to arrangement" button up top (usually goes red) that you use to force it to play what's in arrangement view if you start messing around in session after that. Exporting a section of a song is as simple as setting the loop markers around that section in arrangement view and exporting.
