Akai LPK25 Arpeggiator Stops The It From Outputting Midi

Hi,
My LPK25 works fine until I turn on the arp and the output is completely silent and it won't trigger anything. Then I turn it off and I can play as normal. What wrong with the LPK25 arp? Why won't it work. I've tried pressing the play button and all kind of configuration in ableton settings. I know live has an arp too but I like the hands on switching.
