In the live manual it syas that if you have a drum rack, with a sample (simpler) and then midi effects upstream of the sample and then audio effects down stream, when you drop a new sample to the relevant pad it only replaces the sample and the midi and audio effects are left intact?

When im dropping a sample on the pad it replaces the sample and deletes the midi and audio effects???

What am i doing wrong here?

well annoying :x

You're right. It would seem to me like the documentation is wrong.

Btw you can drag/drop a sample on to the simpler itself and all he effects stay in that chain. Just not to the pad it seems.

in these cases I find "hotswap" to be the best approach.

hotswap for a pad in drum racks still replaces all the effects in that chain though.

I meant hotswapping the sample, or "simpler" not the entire pad.
