How to achieve this sound/effect?

I'm thinking of a particular sound on the new Tyga record. I'm really digging the production on this album. The track is track #3, called "Muthaf** Up". The sound I'm referring to is set pretty far back in the mix, but it's a descending glass/tine sound of some sort. A good spot to hear it without vocals is right around the 3:10 mark.

Not sure if there's a youtube video for it, but if you have spotify or rhapsody give it a listen. See if you can help! Thanks

Come on matey, throw us a freakin' bone, here. We want to help.

(What is this 'spotify' of which you speak, anyway?)

Ok, I was just assuming it wouldn't be on youtube due to copyright issues -

Yeah, I think you should trust your ears - it sounds exactly like a bell type sound descending one semitone at a time at 16th of a bar steps.

A bit like Kraftwerk's 'Heimcomputer" - the famous rising synth blip, but higher pitched and in the opposite direction: 1:37

I've got a Waldorf Microwave II, and it sounds identical to a preset on it called "Ice Drops"

This pattern is indeed descending one semi-tone at a time over a bar, in addition there is slight pitch envelope. Start with pretty much any oscillator type on an Operator (4bit sine worked for me), make the amplification delay envelope short (very very little sustain and release, maybe a slight attack rise to smooth things out), and mess around with the pitch envelope until you get that slight laser pitch drop sound at the beginning of the note. Hi pass filter helps to set it in the mix.

+1 to Beatmunga for the Kraftwerk reference.

Intit!

Atkins was always the most blatantly Kraftwerk obsessed of the Detroit lot.
