Dj Drop Effect How to?

Post by Staezy » Fri Jun 01, 2012 4:04 am

Hello all! I have been searching every where for a way in ableton to make an effect to say make a kick drum go from 1/4,1/8,1/6,1/32 note and be able to map it to say an audio effect rack from which i can control with my apc 40. Any Help MUCH appreciated!!

You want to trigger a kickdrum at those intervals? If so, sounds like something similar to the MPC's Note Repeat.
Maybe something of use in these links?

In Live, use an arpeggiator MIDI effect.
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

you can also use live's Beat Repeat,

set repeat ON, and map 1) the on/off button of the device to one controller's button, and 2) the grid pot to one controller's pot. Set offset to 0.

then when you want your kick going mad, just turn ON the beat repeat when the kick kicks, it will kinda sample your kick, and turning your grid-assigned pot will change the trigger time (far right being slow, far left being bzzzzzzzzz speed)

you can also mod the midi assignation parameters on the left midi assignation browser window, so as to choose between what values the grid pot will browse... (i.e between 1/4 and 1/32)

hope I'm clear

Hi, thats really cool Tarekith, trouble is, a change of tempo creates havack with a recorded loop. Which is strange because that's what ableton is so good at - real time timesretching, but alas not in the looper it would seem.

Any way round this?

P.S. At the moment I'm using the freeze function on the ping pong delay but would love to use your super luper, if only the loop timestretched with tempo...

Sugar Bytes - Artillery 2.

By the way, I assume you really mean, a drum rush in stages. I'm thinking down as you say 'drop' rather than a 'rise', rather than an FX drop. but 'Rush' is what your getting at with your timing signatures.
