I also own live lite m-audio version, and I think it's a number of track limitation. I cannot test it as I also own live. will test it next week on my second puter.

I basically wanted to use the lite version rewired to acid and see how much i liked it, and if i even need to upgrade to the full version. Considering that i use acid, and reason 2.5, and pro tools. plus my mpc1k. I don't think I'll need the full version. Plus how is live with midi, and external sequencing?

in fact, it's the same verson, live 4.11, but registered with a different serial, so you can't have the complete and the live on the same puter.

the live 2 lite wasn't rewire at all, but maybe this changed.[/quote]

hi gomi, i guess you're mixing something up here: Live 4 Demo Version and Live Lite 4. Live Lite can save, Live demo not...

so what are live lite limitations??? is there any description on the ableton site??

there is no general answer to this. Live Lites are OEM versions included with several products from M-Audio, Korg, Digidesign etc.
The limitations are different, but most important issue is the limited number of tracks.

so where to find info about the differents version? I own a complete live and a live delta (m-audio) and I just wondered if it could be cool to run some breaks on a third puter (and maybe as effects for the singer) between I change sets in live, so I ll need synchro and vst/vsti support...

the features should be documented in the product package, and Live Lite tells you if you tra to do something that is not supported. we don't offer comparison on our webpage.

as it' an update from a lite 2.0, it's not documented, and I don't find any veature list on the web, but no worry, I ll test by myself next week ;) then I ll report it here so we would have a feature comparaison :)

Isn't the Lite version missing a bunch of the goodies? I believe it only has a couple of the effects (no grain delay, etc, etc...). Or maybe that was the now bygone Live Delta.

I work in the audio software education field in latin america, and the addition of Live Lite for E-MU products means a lot to me.

It means that most people will get to know the software, without getting to the underground w4rez scene. this means loads of new potetial customers.

I work directly with E-MU's distributor, and I've found that most hardware customers don't even get through the authorization process. Most users think they were given a demo and thats the end of the story for them with ableton live

I am working close to the distributors, teaching to some users about the software bundled with their packages. But for me, is terrible not to have an exact feature comparison between Live Live and Live full versions.

remember that the local minimum wage, monthly, is under 180dollars, which means most users simply can't upgrade. but they could be making some music with Live Lite.

If I manage to make this version really popular, it might mean that some schools and universities will be interested in the licenses, but its very difficult for me to teach without an exact comparison chart for my alumni.

by the way, you really deserve some serious congratulation on being the first audio software app which has both the menus and the documentation in spanish. we're still missing the plugin parameters ;-)

thanks for your attention
