Midi sync issue

Ok so here is the situation.I have two pc's (one mac one pc actually)
synced via midi.I am using midi clock mode which, according to the manual, should let me control the exact song position and starting point of my slave computer. The only details i think worth mentioning about my midi setup is just the fact that the only settings i have currently activated are the most basic for sync(output set on the master, input set on slave,no remote settings for either comp,no sync delay setting)
I can start both comps from the very begining and they have no problem. The song position is the only issue.I can even watch myself moving the cursor along the smaller song map along the top of the screen, just no movement of the actual song position marker.

Sorry for the drawn out explanation(i like people to be able to answer my questions easily).Any help would be greatly appreciated

Does it work when you use MTC (midi time code) instead of midi clock in both apps?

Yes i have tried that but it didn't work.I'm pretty sure timecode isn't capabale of sending those messages but i could be wrong

btw when i load my program i have noticed that the song position will start on both pc's wherever the master is set but...after the pointer is moved song position messages are no longer received by the slave

again any help would be great :!:

both sync methods transmit song position information, but I think you'd have to stop playback and start it again for accurate sync.

i am also having this problem

sync works when you press play in master and then hit the song position pointer (triangle)

then song position info is sent to the slave

but this is very clunky

has this bug been fixed in newer versions?

im using 4.0.4
