hello!
I've got a strange problem. when using external synth (in my case it's virus b), midi editor doesn't play chords. preset is polyphonic, when playing from midi keyboard it plays all notes, and also if I move the notes a little in live's midi editor they sound together, but if they begin exactly in the same moment, only one of them sounds. please help!

What happens if you play that exact MIDI clip into a different synthesizer (such as one of the ones in Live?)

ah, forgot to say that with soft synths there's no such problem, chords play ok. and I didn't try it with different hardsynth because I don't have any except virus. btw, maybe it's worth mentioning that midi goes through m-audio midisport 2x2, but in other daw (logic) there's no such problem too.

It sounds an awful lot like your preset is behaving unexpectedly when all of those notes hit it at once. I imagine playing from a keyboard is the same situation as having the notes in the sequencer offset slightly, since you're not going to play exactly (I imagine most people can't).

How about if you switch Virus presets? Same deal?

i was having that problem with the ableton operator and i found a solution... there's an option called "voices", with which you can choose how many notes can be played at the same time. There might be some kind of option like this in your external synth

I'm having the same problem. I'm sending MIDI out from my ableton to my nord stage ex. It's not being able to play polyphonic sounds. Played the same through logic and played without a problem. So it's not an issue with the outboard then but it's got to do something with the output of ableton.

Nonetheless, It works perfectly with a brand new mac book pro from 2015
