So my situation is that I own a midi fighter, trigger finger, apc40, macbook pro w/ ableton suite...but I have a shitty mixer.
For about half a year now, I have been saving money to fix this problem, but now I find it hard to figure out what is going to work best for me.
The problem is that I use Ableton, which isn't really a problem, but using a mixer with it is. I want to use ableton to its full potential by mapping out the trigger finger and the midi fighter with effects and loops/clips and "maybe" use the apc40 live (debating).
I need the best mixer in the price range of under $1600. I have said the xone 4d is what I need then told it is overkill for what I want and the 92 is a better option. Then I saw the Denon as offering a lot more for less, but it was said to have ableton compatibility problems, so now I'm like fuck.
I really want to stay away from CDJ's based on money and being set around midi...I want to be able to have a live singer through my mixer which made me lean towards the xone 92 but I also have a craving for effects and being able to twist my sound and I've heard A&H lacks compared to Denon. Pioneer is expensive and thats where that discussion ended.
I also have been told the Xone K2 is great, but would would that essentially replace as far as just giving me more control?
I have been researching for about 2 months, every time I have an answer to what to buy, something kills it.
Help?
Ps-I am based in a home studio with rokit 8's and my genre is EDM/dubstep. I am trying to combine live vocals with EDM much like Nero w/ Alana or Deadmau5 w/ Sofi.

If you are looking for just a mixer it will be hard to find better one than 92 (and you need audio interface to feed its 4 channels from live)ryryry203 wrote:Also...people have said new models are being released soon...should i sit on my money and wait?
x1700 is mixer+usb audio interface+midi controler+2*fx in one box.

That was a huge loaded answer...why does everything have to be awesome.
I mean id like the all-in-one but then i was told the 92 is better with ableton...true?
Also...what are my options using a mixer without cdj's?

92 is like a tank but it is all analog (uh, with very limited midi control). to use it with live you need audio interface and midi controller and you can use built-in live effects. it's hard to decide which mixer is better, as those are two different beasts.ryryry203 wrote: I mean id like the all-in-one but then i was told the 92 is better with ableton...true?

live can replace typical a/b (or more "decks") dj mixing setup as you have crossfader and a/b track assignment possibilty.
